In 2022, Bryssa and Keith Wisnewski decided to forego traditional Christmas gifts and instead book an Airbnb in Shaver Lake for the entire family. That winter getaway became one of the most memorable Christmases they had ever experienced—filled with snow, laughter, and time spent together. It sparked a vision: what if more families could experience moments like this?

With Bryssa’s experience in design and real estate and Keith’s background in construction, the couple took a leap and purchased a piece of land in Shaver Lake in February 2023. Their dream was to build a luxury cabin that fostered connection, rest, and quality time. The road to completion was anything but easy. Snow lingered well into late spring, the County approval process dragged on, and HOA requirements added unexpected delays. Despite obstacles, they pushed forward. Once approved, Keith completed the entire build in just four months.

The project demanded long days, personal sacrifice, financial commitment, and even legal challenges to secure the ability to host guests. Yet, every detail was crafted with heart and intention, built not only as a business venture but as a legacy—a space for families to gather, unwind, and make memories that last well beyond a weekend stay.

Today, Newski Nest stands as the first chapter of a bigger vision. Bryssa and Keith plan to expand their luxury rental properties throughout Shaver Lake and across California, promoting the belief that experiences hold more value than possessions. Their hope is that guests walk into a Newski Nest property and instantly feel welcomed, cared for, and connected—to nature, to each other, and to the moment.
